This recipe for Spicy Orange Tofu and Peppers is full of flavor and ideal for a quick and filling vegan supper. It's a delicious dish for any occasion because of the blend of spicy sriracha, crunchy bell peppers, and tangy orange sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, orange juice, maple syrup, sriracha sauce, cornstarch, and water to make the sauce
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat
Add cubed tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides
Remove from the pan and set aside
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed
Add minced garlic and ginger
Saut until fragrant
Add sliced bell peppers to the pan
Cook until slightly tender but still crisp
Pour the sauce over the peppers and tofu
Stir well to coat everything evenly
Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens
Season with salt and pepper to taste
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving
Serve hot over rice or noodles
